Three Yakuza games coming to Xbox One in early 2020
Sega will release three Yakuza games for the Xbox One console in early 2020: Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. Previously, these were PlayStation exclusive titles, which have now also been available for PC for a while.
Sega will not announce when these first three chronological titles from the game series will be released. Sega America communications manager Jon Riesenbach says only that they will be released on the Microsoft Store sometime early next year and will be part of the Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC.
Yakuza Kiwami is a remaster of the first title in the Yakuza series. It was released in August 2017 on the PlayStation 4 in Europe and the US, and was already available for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan in early 2016. Yakuza 0 is a prequel to the Yakuza series. This came out in January 2017 for the PlayStation 4 in Europe and the US, and had already been out in Japan for the PS3 and PS4 since March 2015. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the remaster of Yakuza 2 from 2006. This game was released in Japan in late 2017 and in the rest of the world in August last year.
Originally, the Yakuza games only came out for the PlayStation consoles. Yakuza 0 and Yakuzai Kiwami are also available on PC for the first time since last year, followed in May of this year by Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PC users.
Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are action adventures with RPG elements. Players take on the role of Japanese Yakuza mobster Kazuma Kiryu in these titles and enter an open world from a third-person perspective.
