Three top people leave AMD
Three senior AMD employees are leaving the company. These are the general manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Group, the chief marketing officer and the chief strategy officer. It is unclear what the reason for the departure is.
AMD has disclosed the exodus of the three in a so-called 8K document to notify investors. According to AMD, the general manager of the Computing and Graphics Business Group, John Byrne, is taking on different challenges. Byrne has held the position for 8 months; before that he was chief sales officer. CEO Lisa Su will take over his duties until a replacement is found.
In addition, chief marketing officer Colette LaForce and chief strategy officer Raj Naik are leaving, according to Reuters. No external replacement is sought for them. It is unclear what the reason for the departure is. According to AMD, it is part of “implementing an optimal organizational design and leadership team to further improve AMD’s execution and position.” AMD will announce its quarterly results on January 20. The group is struggling with a large debt burden and is struggling to make a profit, despite a major reorganization.
