THQ Nordic postpones Alone in the Dark to January due to ‘busy October’
Alone in the Dark will no longer be released in October this year, but on January 16, 2024. Publisher THQ Nordic is postponing the game because several other games will be released in October, including major games such as Alan Wake II and Spider-Man 2.
The publisher notices that horror games “thrive on the delicate balance of suspense” and “exploit the creepy embrace of loneliness.” “Imagine walking through a dimly lit house in the dead of night, where faint whispers and unfamiliar sounds give you goosebumps. Now imagine that you are not alone in this disturbing scenario, but in the company of a group of 28 intriguing individuals. The fear factor is decreasing, isn’t it?”, writes the publisher with a nod to the dozens of other games that will be released in October.
In the press release, the company specifically mentions the games Alan Wake II and Spider-Man 2 as games that the publisher wants to avoid with this postponement. That is why the release is postponed to January next year. In addition, the company wants to give the developers time to ‘perfect’ the game.
