THQ Nordic confirms Darksiders III arrival in 2018 and shows trailer
Publisher THQ Nordic has confirmed that Darksiders III is in the works and that the game will be released sometime in 2018. The action RPG will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows. A trailer has been posted online along with the official announcement.
The trailer for Darksiders III only shows CGI footage and no gameplay or other footage of the game itself yet. A concrete release date has not yet been announced, the publisher only wants to say that the game will be released sometime in 2018. Earlier on Tuesday, extensive information about the game appeared on Amazon. That information now appears to be correct. The third game in the Darksiders series gets a new main character: Fury. Like War and Death from the previous games, she is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
THQ Nordic has the game made by the American studio Gunfire Games, because many people work there who worked on the first two parts. Lars Wingefors, CEO of publisher THQ Nordic, said in an interview with GamesBeat that Darksiders II was both an action-adventure game and an RPG and that Darksiders III will be more “focused”. The new game will revolve around exploration, combat and story. The main character is equipped with a whip, which makes the fights very different from the previous parts, Wingefors says.
