This is the new generation Audi Q3
Audi presents the second generation of the Audi Q3. He has now received a digital cockpit and the latest driving assistance systems that should provide more comfort and safety.
The new Q3 is 4.48 meters long, 1.85 meters wide and 1.58 meters high. The wheelbase grew by 7.8 centimeters to 2.68 meters. This benefits the space offered for passengers and luggage. The Q3 has new flat LED headlights, a new single-frame grille and a large rear spoiler with a nod to Audi’s quattro DNA.
Interior
The new Audi Q3 has become more spacious. The rear seat is movable over a length of 15 cm, while the handrail is adjustable (7 positions) and can be folded down in three parts. Depending on the position of the rear seat, the luggage compartment has a capacity of 530 or 675 liters. Folded down the capacity is 1.525 liters. The height of the loading floor is adjustable.
Every new Audi Q3 has a digital instrument panel that can be configured to your liking. The Q3 has a standard touchscreen on the dashboard. There is a choice of various versions with screen sizes ranging from 10.25 – 12.3 inches. The latest version also includes voice control. MMI navigation plus offers real-time traffic and parking information, fast LTE internet connection, a Wi-Fi hotspot. Digital radio (DAB +) and Google Earth navigation are also available. Via the myAudi app many functions of the Q3 can be operated with the smartphone. Naturally, both Apple Carplay and Android Auto are available.
Ease of use, comfort and safety
The Audi Q3 is equipped with a number of assistance systems including adaptive cruise control (in combination with S tronic). In this cruise control, adaptive speed control, the filee assistant and the active lane assist come together.
Park assist makes it possible for the Q3 to automatically park in and out. You get a 180-degree view via the reversing camera. Audi pre sense front is standard on every Q3. This system recognizes potentially dangerous situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and / or other vehicles. The system warns for this with optical and acoustic signals and can independently carry out an emergency stop if necessary. Lane departure warning is also standard.
Driving behavior
The longer wheelbase ensures that bumps with a little more comfort can be taken. Damper control is optional. The damping is automatically adjusted to the road surface and the driving conditions. The Audi Q3 is also available with a stiffer suspension sports suspension in combination with progressive steering. With the optional Audi drive select you can choose from six driving settings, including ‘car’, ‘comfort’, ‘offroad’ and the ‘individual’ configuration. The Q3 is available with wheel sizes ranging from 17 to 20 inches.
Three TFSI engines and a TDI
At the end of the year, the Audi Q3 will be available with a choice of three TFSI petrol engines and a TDI diesel. All four-cylinder engines are equipped with turbo technology and direct injection. The basic model is the Audi Q3 35 TFSI with the 1.5-liter petrol engine with 110 kW / 150 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. Cylinder shutdown provides extra efficiency with this model. The Audi Q3 40 TFSI has a two liter petrol engine with 140 kW / 190 hp and a torque of 320 Nm. The Audi Q3 45 TFSI has a 169 kW / 230 hp twin liter (350 Nm). quattro all-wheel drive is standard on the 2.0 TFSI versions.
The Audi Q3 35 TDI has a 2.0 TDI with 110 kW / 150 hp and a torque of 340 Nm. To start with, it is in combination with quattro – later also comes with a version with front wheel drive. The 140 kW / 190 hp 2.0 TDI is also on the schedule.
Market introduction at the end of this year
The new Q3 will be launched at the end of this year. Each new Q3 is standard equipped with a digital instrument panel, MMI radio plus with Bluetooth, a multifunction steering wheel, air conditioning and LED headlights. As an introduction, Audi also presents an extra complete, sporty version. The exact specifications of this and the other models will be announced as well as the prices in the run-up to the market introduction.
