Taiwanese Thermaltake has released a cooler that can also be used on the lga1366 socket. The V14AX is equipped with a 14cm fan, the speed of which can be adjusted with the turn of the knob.

The new CPU cooler is basically a large version of ThermalTake’s V1 cooler. It is unclear how many heatpipes the cooler will have: the product photos show only four, while the specifications speak of six heatpipes. The heat pipes transfer the heat from the copper base to the 98 aluminum fins. The fan with a diameter of 14 centimeters has a range of 1000 to 1600 revolutions per minute. The fan can easily be turned up or down with the help of a supplied rotary knob.

The fan is centered so that it pulls cold air through the first set of cooling fins, then blows it through the second set of cooling fins. According to Thermaltake, the fan produces a minimum of 16dBA and a maximum of 24dBA of noise. The V14AX measures 171x100x161mm and weighs 631 grams. That’s 6 grams less than the smaller V1, which has copper instead of aluminum cooling fins. In addition to the lga1366 socket, the cooler is also suitable for the lga775 and AM2 socket. Thermaltake has not disclosed a price or availability date.
