Thermaltake Introduces The Tower 100 Enclosure for Mini-ITX Motherboards
Thermaltake announces its The Tower 100 case at CES. This tower case offers space for Mini-ITX motherboards and should be available at the end of January. Thermaltake does not yet mention a suggested retail price.
The Thermaltake The Tower 100 is a smaller variant of the current The Tower 900, which was announced in 2016. The Mini-ITX variant measures approximately 463x266x266mm, while the larger model measures 752x423x483mm. The new case only offers space for Mini-ITX motherboards and weighs 6.1 kilograms. Thermaltake provides its The Tower 100 with three glass side panels.
The motherboard mount of the The Tower 100 case is rotated a quarter turn compared to other cases. This positions the motherboard connectors on the top of the chassis. The housing supports video cards with a maximum length of 330mm, which are placed vertically in the housing. The case also offers space for CPU coolers with a maximum height of 190mm and power supplies up to 180mm.
Thermaltake also supplies two 120mm fans. The manufacturer places these on the top and back of the case. In total, the case offers space for up to three 120mm or 140mm fans. According to the manufacturer, the housing is optimized for vertical airflow, with air entering at the bottom and expelling it at the top. The supplied fans each spin at a speed of 1000rpm. Users can install up to two 2.5″ drives as standard. The Tower 100 enclosure also accommodates two 3.5″ HDDs, but users will need to move the pre-installed fan on the back.
The front panel houses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connector, two USB 3.0 Type-A connectors, and two 3.5mm jacks for audio and a microphone. Thermaltake releases the housing in a black and white variant. The Thermaltake The Tower 100 should be available at the end of January, but the company is not yet mentioning a suggested retail price. The larger The Tower 900 had a suggested retail price of $250 at release and is listed in the Pricewatch for €279.
