Thermalright Le Grand Macho can passively cool CPUs up to 95W

Thermalright comes with a larger version of its Macho cooling. The new model, Le Grand Macho, can passively cool CPUs with a TDP of up to 95 watts. With two 120mm fans, the big Macho should be able to cool up to 300 watts.

The heatsink of Le Grand Macho has dimensions of 150x125x159mm and weighs 900 grams. There are seven heatpipes and nickel-plated c1100 copper is used for the base plate. Thermalright has designed the cooler in such a way that there must be enough space to access the memory slots. The heatsink is also not in the way of the GPU, according to the manufacturer.

On its website Thermalright shows with screenshots that the cooling tower is capable of passively cooling an Intel Core i7-6700K. At standard speeds, the core temperature averages about 65 degrees under load. With an overclock to 4.6GHz, temperatures remain on average below 80 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 88 degrees Celsius. Incidentally, a case fan has been placed in the test set-up near the heatsink.

Using fans, the cooling tower can keep CPUs with a TDP of 300 watts cool, according to Thermalright. With such a power, two 120mm fans must be used. It is not yet known how much the Le Grande Macho cooling will cost and when it will appear on the market.
