Thecus has upgraded the N2810 NAS and released this system under the name N2810PRO. The multimedia nas is equipped with a Braswell quadcore that Intel released at the beginning of this year, in combination with 4GB DDR3.

Thecus’ N2810PRO Edition is built around the same 2-bay chassis as the N2810 that the company announced earlier this year. However, Thecus has upgraded the processor from the Celeron N3050 to the N3160. Both are Braswell SOCs with a clock speed of 1.6GHz, 2MB L2 cache and TDP of 6W, but the N3160 is a quad-core with Turbo at 2.24GHz, where the N3050 only has two cores and a burst speed of 2. has 16 GHz. It is striking that Thecus mentions a maximum clock speed of 2.08GHz for the N3160; there is a possibility that the manufacturer has set this maximum.

In addition, the amount of DDR3 has doubled from 2GB to 4GB. Users can put up to 8GB of ram in the N2810PRO. Furthermore, the NAS has three USB 3.0 ports, two Gigabit Ethernet connections, HDMI 1.4b, Displayport 1.1a and an S/PDIF audio connector. The latter two have been added to the PRO Edition compared to the N2810. The nas runs ThecusOS 7.0, the current version of the new operating system from Thecus, which the company released at the end of last year.

The N2810PRO will be available from June 30, but prices are still unknown.
