Thecus announces 4-bay NAS N4810
Thecus has announced a new 4-bay NAS called N4810. It is a more extensive version of the N2810PRO, which has 2 bays. The maximum storage capacity is 40TB.
The N4810 is equipped with a Celeron N3160 quad-core processor with a speed of 1.6GHz and a burst speed of 2.24Ghz. This is the same processor that can also be found in the 2810PRO. The RAM is standard 4GB, with an expansion to 8GB is possible. Again, there is no difference with the previous version. According to Thecus, the difference is in an added USB-C port, in addition to the existing three USB 3.0 ports. The new NAS is also equipped with a 92 mm fan and the device has an LCD with which basic settings can be adjusted.
Furthermore, the NAS has two gigabit Ethernet connections, hdmi 1.4b, displayport 1.1a and an s/pdif audio connector, which are housed in a housing with dimensions of 192x172x250mm. The system runs on ThecusOS 7.0, which includes a Photo Station and a File Center, in addition to the ability to run various apps. The system also provides a VPN server, which allows users to access files from outside.
The N4810 will be available from this month. The Taiwanese company has not disclosed a price.
