The Witcher and The Witcher 2 now support Apple Silicon
CD Projekt RED adds Apple Silicon support to The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The minimum system requirements have also been adjusted to macOS 11 Big Sur. Intel Mac players will retain access to the previous version of the game.
The two games have been available on Mac for some time, but are becoming from now on also supported by Apple’s own M1 and M2 SoCs and the macOS Ventura operating system version. CD Projekt RED previously announced support for Apple Silicon and macOS 13 Ventura in a blog post.
The Witcher games have now sold more than 75 million copies, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt being the best-selling title with more than 50 million copies sold. The franchise has also made its way to streaming services in recent years. The third season of The Witcher series was released on Netflix in June.
Apple introduced its next generation of Apple Silicon at the end of October: the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max sockets are made using TSMC’s 3nm process. In addition, Apple unveiled its new MacBook Pros and an iMac 24″. In September, the company released macOS 14 Sonoma.
