CD Projekt Red has released an update to the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that will give players the opportunity to use any save games from the game on Steam or Game distribution platform GOG.com.

CD Projekt Red writes that update 3.6 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch will include savegame integration with Steam and GOG. This means that Switch players can transfer any progression in the game on the PC to the Switch.

The developer warns players that some things can go wrong when transferring save games from the PC to the Switch. For example, mod-related bugs from a mod-modified PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could also end up on Switch if the cross-save feature is used. In addition, the Cloud Save function of the Switch will not recognize the save file if the name is changed on the PC.

In addition, update 3.6 introduces touch control support for the menu, hud and playing of the mini card game Gwent. In addition, a number of new graphics options are now available on the Switch, such as the ability to adjust the depth of field, anti-aliasing, motion blur and chromatic aberration.

Players of The Witcher 3 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One do not have to count on such a cross-save function for the time being. A CD Projekt Red spokesperson told USgamer that it was made specifically for the Switch version and that there are no plans to introduce similar functionality in other versions of The Witcher 3.
