The Sims 4 is getting the Star Wars expansion Journey to Batuu, which allows Sims to travel to the Star Wars universe. There, players can join the Resistance or First Order faction, assemble a lightsaber and one droid purchase.

The expansion takes place on Batuu, a planet in the Outer Rim. Both the Resistance and the First Order are represented on this planet and there are different types of aliens around. In the Sims expansion, players can choose whether to work for one of the two factions and complete missions. After each mission, players gain reputation points, giving them a bigger role within the relevant faction. Players can also choose to stay neutral and earn galactic credits through smuggler missions.

According to publisher EA, the game world responds to the choices of the player. For example, if a Sim is highly regarded by the First Order, Resistance members will hardly want to talk to this Sim. In addition, when more missions are played with a faction, Sims can get to know more important contacts within that faction. The expansion features familiar faces from the Star Wars stories, such as Rey, Kylo Ren and Hondo Ohnaka.

In Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, players can also own lightsabers compile. In Savi’s Workshop are different hilts and kyber crystals for sale. Rarer parts can be obtained through missions. Once players have crafted a Lightsaber, they can use it to train, spar with other Sims and build their Fitness Skill.

Finally, a droid is for sale at the Droid Depot, players can choose from an R or BB droid. Players can customize and name this droid as they wish. The droid will continue to follow and assist the Sim on missions. This droid will also go with the Sim when the Sim decides to return to the regular Sim world.

It is unclear whether Sims can stay on Batuu for an extended period of time, or whether the stay is limited, such as at the vacation destinations or universities from previous The Sims expansions. EA does say that the normal sim world will be expanded with new set pieces, objects and recipes from the Star Wars universe. The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack will be released on September 8 for Mac, Origin, PlayStation 4, Steam and Xbox One. The Star Wars Game Pack costs twenty euros. Expansion requires The Sims 4.
