A new update for Pokémon Go is on the way. This update introduces Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. In addition, the game is adjusted on a number of points. A release date for the update has not yet been announced.

The Pokémon Company reports that the changes in the update mainly relate to two aspects: the distribution of Pokémon and the values. The changes being made are based on player feedback.

More different Pokémon will appear in parks and reserves. Over time, the player encounters more different species in the same area. In addition, weather conditions will play a lesser role in the variety of Pokémon that can be found at that time.

The hp and cp values are rebalanced. The hp values are adjusted in a way that bridges the gap between high-hp Pokémon and low-hp Pokémon. The same happens when balancing the cp values. It is not yet known how the balancing will manifest itself and what players will notice.

Defense and stamina are also being tinkered with. So far it is only known that defense is more balanced. This means that taking out a Pokémon with high defense values becomes less time consuming. In addition, defense goes down slightly with each Pokémon.

Not only does the update include new Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, but some evolution lines from previous generations continue. For example, Roselia, Dusclops and Magmar are getting a third evolution. The Sinnoh region first appeared in the fourth iteration of the main series: Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. The two versions were released for the Nintendo DS on July 27, 2007.
