The original Lando Calrissian is back in Star Wars Episode IX

Since the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story a new Lando Calrissian has been raised in the form of Donald Glover and although he has played the role with verve, nothing like Billy Dee Williams does the real original schavuit. What seems? That is what JJ Abrams apparently agrees with, because the same Williams appears to be coming back in Star Wars Episode IX to give Calrissian one more time (because you can count on him dying).

The way it came out is also typical: Williams has had to cancel for a sci-fi convention (where actors in B-roles have acted since the 1980s to sell signatures and photos for money) ) because he said he was recording recordings for a new film.

That immediately triggered the rumor mill and it appears that these recordings would be for the new Star Wars film. The Hollywood Reporter even knows for sure, and they are usually pretty well informed about that kind of thing.

Williams has not played the role since 1983, although he has still recorded voiceovers for cartoons and games in the Star Wars universe. What exactly is going to happen with his character is (despite my own speculation) still completely unclear, but it is still one of the few original characters that still live in the universe. The film will not be released until the end of 2019, so it will be a long time before we know how it ends with the ex-smuggler.
