The Lord of the Rings: Gollum releases September 1 for PC and consoles
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from developer Daedalic Entertainment releases September 1 on Steam and for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. A Nintendo Switch version will appear later, but when is not yet known.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven stealth adventure game according to the makers. The game revolves around the character Gollum or Sméagol from JRR Tolkien’s books. Last year, the developer showed gameplay for the first time. On the Steam page Also includes screenshots of the game.
The game features familiar events from the books, but also fills in gaps in the storyline. The gameplay mainly revolves around stealth. The game is co-developed with Middle-earth Enterprises, which manages the rights to The Lord of the Rings franchise.
Developer Daedalic Entertainment was acquired earlier this year for 53 million euros by publisher Nacon. The release date is Tuesday announced on Twitter. It was previously announced that the game will appear for Xbox and PlayStation consoles of the current and previous generation.
