The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been delayed by ‘a few months’
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from developer Daedalic Entertainment has been delayed by several months. The game was originally supposed to be released on September 1, but the makers say they need more time for the release.
It is not yet known when the game will be released or whether it will be released in 2022. Daedalic Entertainment writes on Twitter that the postponement will take ‘a few more months’. The company will release a more specific timeline soon. The makers say they are making a story that ‘holds up the vision of JRR Tolkien’. “In order to provide the best experience possible, we have decided to postpone the release by a few months,” says the developer.
It is not known exactly where the delay in development is. For example, the makers do not say whether it has anything to do with the acquisition of Daedalic by publisher Nacon in February of this year.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum tells the story of the eponymous creature from the fantasy books. The game is a stealth game in which players must guide Gollum through Mordor and other well-known areas of Middle-earth. Previous gameplay trailers have also featured well-known characters such as wizard Gandalf and elf king Thranduil appearing in the game. The game does not follow the complete story from the Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion and Hobbit books, but also adds new locations and storylines.
