The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Gets Remake on Nintendo Switch
Nintendo is making a remake of the more than quarter-century-old game The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The game that appeared for the Game Boy in 1993 is being remade for the Nintendo Switch.
The new version, like the original, has a perspective where players look at the game world from above, but the remake has been completely renewed graphically. In a video Nintendo shows atmospheric images and some gameplay. Further details have not yet been announced, Nintendo says to tell more soon.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was the fourth Zelda game in 1993 and the first to be released for a handheld. The original game on the Game Boy is in black and white, in 1998 there was a modified deluxe version of the game for the Game Boy Color, in color. The two versions are said to have sold more than six million copies. Nintendo says the remake will be released this year, but hasn’t announced a date yet.
