The Last of Us Remake Coming September 2nd For PS5, Coming To PC Later

Sony will release a remake of The Last of Us for the PlayStation 5 on September 2, and the game is also in development for PC. According to Sony, the game has been rebuilt “from the ground up” and the gameplay has been “modernized”.

Sony calls the remake The Last of Us Part I, and the revamped version was created by original developer Naughty Dog. It is not yet clear which developer will make the PC version.

Judging by the visuals, the remake offers a similar graphical quality to The Last of Us Part II. That game originally came out for the PS4 and got an update that allows the game to run on the PS5 at a frame rate of 60fps. Sony also promises ‘modernized gameplay’ and extensive accessibility options.

The Last of Us was first released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3. The Last of Us Remastered for the PlayStation 4 followed a year later. The renewed version has a suggested retail price of 80 euros and there will be a Deluxe version of 90 euros. . Both versions also include the Left Behind expansion, originally released as DLC in early 2014.

Update, 22.12: Sony has formally announced The Last of Us Part I and announced a standalone multiplayer game.
