The Elder Scrolls mod that adds Oblivion to Skyrim will be released no later than 2025
The fan-made Skyrim mod Skyblivion will be released no later than 2025. That’s what the makers claim. The mod, which adds the world and story of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to Skyrim, also receives a new trailer with gameplay footage.
Skyblivion lead developer Rebelzize announces on YouTube that the mod will be released ‘at the latest’ in 2025. “Skyblivion is in a state where we can promise a 2025 release,” the mod maker wrote. The team of volunteers working on Skyblivion is asking for extra help from fans. With that extra help, they say they “may be able to exceed their own 2025 estimate.”
Skyblivion recreates the entire The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game in the engine of Skyrim, the latest single-player RPG in the franchise. Skyblivion has been in development since 2012. The TESRenewal team already claimed in 2017 that a beta or full release would be ready in 2018, also writes Eurogamer. In 2019, the team stated that the mod was in the final stages of development.
Skyblivion is part of the TESRenewal volunteer project, which remakes old The Elder Scrolls games with newer engines. Under the same initiative, a separate team is also working on Skywind, a mod that should transfer The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind to Skyrim.
