The Division 2 is on the Epic Games Store, not on Steam

Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2 will be available on the Epic Games Store and not on Steam. As The Division 2 hits stores on March 15, Ubisoft has also revealed the system requirements for the online shooter.

That Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available through the Epic Games Store and not through Steam is somewhat remarkable. For example, the first part of the series is available via the online store of Valve. The fact that Ubisoft opts for Epic’s online store at The Division 2 may be due to the lower commission that Epic asks. Where Valve charges a rate of 30 percent of the sales price, Epic is satisfied with twelve percent.

Epic’s online store was not yet online when the first part of the series appeared in 2016. Epic opened its store in December last year, out of dissatisfaction with the high commissions charged by online stores such as Valve, Google and Apple. It is not clear whether Ubisoft will now favor Epic over Valve in all its games. Incidentally, the digital versions of both parts of The Division are also available for purchase through Ubisoft’s own online game store. Incidentally, until recently, Ubisoft planned to also offer The Division 2 via Steam. The game has been on the Steam store, according to Google’s cache.

The Division 2 is out March 15 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Ubisoft has released the system requirements for the Windows version.
