The Banner Saga is coming to PlayStation 4 in early 2015
The American development studio Stoic is going to release The Banner Saga for the PlayStation 4. The game, along with a few other indie games, should be released for Sony’s console early in 2015.
The Banner Saga is currently only available for Windows, OS X and iOS systems. However, that is about to change, according to the PlayStation blog page. It is unclear if the game will undergo any changes. It is only written that the ‘quality standard has been established’.
The original of The Banner Saga was released in January. The game’s budget was collected through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. In total, this involved an amount of almost $742,000, converted approximately EUR 594,000. That was considerably more than developer Stoic initially envisioned. At the start, the company bet on 100,000 dollars, or approximately 80,000 euros. The extra budget gives Stoic the opportunity to offer more options.
According to the developers, The Banner Saga is an RPG and also a strategy game. The player has to embark on an adventurous journey in a world based on the ancient Vikings. In conversations, choices have to be made that influence the course of the game.
Stoic’s game has been announced by Sony along with several other indie games. Toren, Kyn and Armikrog are also due for release for PlayStation 4 in early 2015.
