Test version Windows 11 has volume mixer in quick settings

Windows 11 is going to get a volume mixer in the quick settings panel. Users can then access individual app volume levels, output device choices, and audio processing such as Dolby Atmos with a click of the mouse.

Now it takes a total of four clicks, starting with quick settings, to get to the volume mixer in Windows 11. With Windows 10, that is two clicks. After this W11 update, the target can be reached with a single click. In the panel, individual applications can be given a higher or lower volume than the rest.

The functionality was released to testers on Thursday in the operating system’s Dev channel, in build 25309. Anyone is free to move to Dev, though it’s more unstable than Beta and you can’t always switch back to another channel easily . Microsoft speaks of a ‘roll-out’, so not every Dev tester will see the new mixer right away. Microsoft has listed the details of the new volume mixer and all other minor and major changes in this new build in a blog post.

In the past six months, Microsoft introduced a larger widget screen in its latest computer operating system, iCloud photo support, video recordings via the snipping tool, tabs in Explorer and Notepad, a special taskbar for tablets, a search function in task manager and the integration of the Bing-AI chatbot in the taskbar.
