The test version of an Android 8.0 update for the OnePlus 3, 3T and 5 would appear at the end of September. Users in the closed beta for the OnePlus 3 have already received a first firmware with Android Oreo on their phone.

The closed beta for the OnePlus 5 and 3T should come in mid-September, while anyone who wants to can try the open beta from the end of September, Android Police reports. It is not yet known when the final version will be released.

The current version for the OnePlus 3 is still far from stable. For example, many wireless connections still work poorly. NFC is not functional, wifi is unstable and bluetooth also has problems. In addition, OnePlus warns people in the closed beta for updates that could fail and the manufacturer therefore asks everyone to keep logs.

This makes OnePlus the first manufacturer after Google to bring a firmware online with Android 8.0. It is still unknown when other manufacturers will follow. Sony will release the first non-Google devices this month with 8.0, of which the Xperia XZ1 should be the first in the shops.
