Tesla no longer states on its website that production of the Cybertruck will start in 2022. American media discovered that. The year 2022 is no longer mentioned on the order page for the electric pick-up truck, which may indicate a postponement of production.

Cybertruck’s order page has recently announced that Cybertruck customers will be able to complete the configuration of the electric pick-up ‘as production approaches’, which is a difference compared to the announcement that was still on the website at the beginning of December 2021. . It stated that customers could complete the configuration as soon as production approached “in 2022”.

Since August last year, Tesla’s website had stated that production of the Cybertruck would start in 2022 instead of the end of 2021, the period mentioned during the unveiling of the electric pickup truck in 2019.

During the discussions of the quarterly figures for the second quarter of 2021, Tesla CEO Elon Musk also said that the production of the Cybertruck was struggling. “It’s easy to prototype, but anything you make at high volume goes as fast as the slowest link in the chain. For example, if you have 10,000 parts and processes, you can have 9999 of them in-house. But if you If you miss one, you’ll get stuck. For example, we missed the module that controls airbags and seat belts this quarter. And you can’t make a car without that module.”

The Cybertruck was announced at the end of 2019. It is an electric pickup truck made of armored metal with tempered glass windows. Tesla is releasing single-engine, rear-wheel-drive versions, and two- and three-motor, four-wheel-drive versions. The cheapest version should cost from $40,000, the most expensive version will be on sale from $70,000. Tesla has not yet made an official announcement about a possible delay in production of the Cybertruck.
