Tesla Model Y will be released in the Benelux in two years and costs from 56,000 euros
Tesla has announced its Model Y compact SUV. The car will come in four versions and deliveries of the electric car will start in the Benelux in two years. The price then starts from 56,000 euros.
A cheaper variant with a shorter range will be released in 2022, Tesla says. The ‘Long Range’ rear-wheel drive model is the cheapest variant available to order now, while the ‘Long Range’ and ‘Performance’ variants of an all-wheel drive version are now also available to order. They cost 60,000 and 69,000 euros.
The Tesla Model Y will be released in the Benelux later than in the home country of the United States, where customers will receive the first versions in a year and a half, from autumn 2020. Customers can configure their Model Y, after which they pay 2000 euros with the order.
The SUV has five seats for passengers as standard, while customers can buy two extra seats for 3200 euros. Users pay 5300 euros for software that Tesla refers to as ‘autonomous driving’, which includes autopilot, autonomous parking and the function to call the car.
The first available ‘Long Range’ two-wheel drive variant can cover up to 540 kilometers on a single charge, while the Performance version should reach 480 kilometers. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.5 seconds. The interior has a 15″ touchscreen for operation, while the roof is made of glass. Exact specs of the model, such as the size of the battery, software and other features, does not seem to be announced by Tesla yet.
