Elon Musk says on Twitter that Tesla is working on getting Steam games working in general rather than porting specific titles. With this he makes it clear that the game platform of Valve and thus the entire library must become playable and not just a few specific titles of the platform. In addition to this, Musk seems to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on the Cybertruck. The Tesla director says he thinks this is a great game.

It has been possible for some time to play certain games in Tesla cars via the Tesla Arcade gaming platform. For the time being, this is a collection of older, classic games, such as Asteroids, Missile Command and more recently Sonic the Hedgehog from 1991. However, it will also be possible to play graphically demanding games, because the renewed Tesla Model S and X have an AMD Ryzen -apu and RDNA 2 gpu. At the presentation of the updated Tesla Model S and X in January 2021, Tesla already said that it would be possible to play games such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 on the 17-inch screen on the dashboard.

Recently, there was some commotion about a game feature in Tesla cars when it was revealed that occupants in the United States could play games through the infotainment systems while driving. Under pressure from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Tesla decided to disable this Passenger Play feature. This function is actually intended for passengers, but drivers could also use it quite easily. Passenger Play was available since December 2020, before that playing games was only possible when the car was parked.
