Tesla Blocks Spots With Supercharger Chargers For Non-Electric Cars
Tesla has placed gates at a new Supercharger charging location in China in the parking spaces that are equipped with the charging stations. These prevent a car from being able to park there just like that; Tesla owners can collapse these via QR codes in the WeChat app.
It’s alright according to Twitter user JayinShanghai about the WeChat app that Chinese Tesla drivers should have on their smartphones. This allows them to scan a QR code that is placed on the wall behind the charging installation. After scanning this code, the blue iron gate is automatically folded down, so that the Tesla driver can actually park his car to use the charging station.
The Twitterer has posted photos of the gates that Tesla wants to prevent cars with internal combustion engines from occupying parking spaces, which are actually intended for Tesla’s drivers who want to use a Supercharger charging station. According to him, only the WeChat app will suffice and not the Tesla mobile app. It would take less than a minute to make the car park accessible this way.
It is unknown whether Tesla plans to install this system in some form elsewhere in the world. For now, this has only been implemented in a Supercharger charging location in China.
