Terraria still comes out for Stadia after unblocking Google account developer

Terraria is coming to game streaming service Google Stadia after all. That release was canceled almost three weeks ago because one of the creators’ Google account was blocked for no reason.

“After a month of pressure and massive support from our fans, Google reached out to us and were able to clarify the situation and regain access to our accounts,” the development team wrote in a forum post on Friday. “Due to the hard work of the Stadia team and publisher 505 Games, we have decided to go ahead with the Stadia release of the game.”

The studio further states that the game is now with Google for certification review, which suggests that the release of the game is not long in coming. However, an official date for the game’s release is not given at this time.

The founder of Terraria studio Re-Logic tried for more than three weeks to get his Google account blocked, but was unsuccessful. Then the measure was full for him: “I have done absolutely nothing to violate the terms of use, so I can only see that you (Google, ed.) have decided to burn this bridge. I do not want to do business with a company that values ​​its customers and partners so little.” All in all, the block has been on the developer’s Google account for over 40 days.

Terraria is a popular indie platformer. The game features exploration, crafting, base building, painting and combat in a procedurally generated 2D world. The game is available on almost all platforms. It had nearly half a million concurrent players on Steam last year at its peak; the only games that held a higher record at the time were CS:GO, Dota 2, and PUBG.
