Developer Telltale Games is going to make a game based on a Marvel series. It is not yet clear which series it concerns or which characters will play a role in the upcoming title. The only certainty is that the goal is to release the project in 2017.

Telltale announced the partnership Thursday evening in San Francisco. The studio is known for episodic games such as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones.

At the moment, Telltale is busy working on Tales From the Borderlands and Game of Thrones. With a new season of The Walking Dead in the pipeline, a new episode of The Wolf Among Us, a collaboration with Lionsgate and a Minecraft-esque game, the studio still has something to do.

That is why the new Marvel game is only on the agenda for 2017. Speculation about which characters will play the lead role point in the direction of Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man or perhaps a combination of protagonists. Telltale speaks in the announcement about a series, which suggests that the Marvel game’s episodes will also be released.
