Telenet no longer shows internet consumption due to faulty Telemeter
Telenet customers who have a subscription with a data limit complain that the so-called Telemeter, which is supposed to provide insight into the amount of data traffic consumed, has not been working for more than a week.
Including on the forum of User base and on Twitter there is a complaint about a faulty Telemeter. For example, the Telenet customer with the alias d4m13n reports that he has a subscription with a ‘limited’ fair use policy – Telenet can still throttle so-called large consumers – and wants to see his consumption, but that the data from the Telemeter has not been updated since 8 November. . Other subscribers also state that for more than a week the data on the amount of megabytes consumed can no longer be requested from the Telemeter.
Despite the fact that the Telemeter service no longer shows current consumption data, Telenet’s back-end servers would continue to monitor data traffic and, if the data limit is exceeded, customers automatically switch back to a significantly lower internet speed. The problem seems to be specific to the Telemeter software.
Via Twitter, Telenet know that it is aware of the issues with the Telemeter. The internet provider says it is doing its utmost to get the Telemeter up and running again. How long this will take is not yet known.
