Telenet has announced the video-on-demand service Play. Play is to replace the existing Rex and Rio packs and will be available December 15. Play costs 10 euros per month, while the Play More package, with access to TV series and movies, costs 25 euros per month.

The Play service promises content from local channels, films, series and a replay function. With Play’s so-called Replay TV service, TV programs can be viewed up to seven days ago. A total of 25 channels are covered, including the most important Flemish and Walloon TV channels and channels such as Njam, Studio100 TV and Libelle. Telenet also promises to add twenty theme channels to the Play offer.

In addition, Telenet comes with the Play More, which costs 24.95 euros per month. According to Telenet, this package contains top international series that can be viewed in complete seasons. Recent films would also be available on this service.

Existing Rex customers will be automatically transferred to Play starting December 15th. Rio subscribers will get access to Play More, while Prime and Plus subscribers can choose whether to make the switch.

With the introduction of Play, Telenet will also be renewing its Yelo app for Android and iOS. The cable operator states that the app can be used as a remote control for the Play service, among other things. Telenet also wants to release an app for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. This application should be available in the spring of 2015.
