Tele2 is considering selling fixed telephony and internet network – update
Tele2 has indicated that it is considering selling its network that is used for the provision of fixed telephony and internet. The alternative is to invest in the fixed network.

In addition, Granyd said that his company is considering divesting its fixed telephony and internet network, one of the main reasons being that a ‘fixed’ network has become less relevant to customers in recent times. However, the disposal of the network for fixed telephony and internet is not yet certain. Tele2 is also looking at alternatives; Granyd said that Tele2 is also considering investing in the network. By improving the network, the company should be able to compete with other providers again.
In the field of mobile services, Tele2 will probably invest in 4g in the coming years. The company has already indicated that it will set up a network based on LTE. At the presentation of the most recent quarterly figures, Tele2 announced that it has seen its number of mobile customers increase, while the number of fixed connections decreased.
Update November 21: Tele2 has commented indicated that Granyd’s answers have been taken out of context. However, the company does not deny that part of the network will be sold, although it wants to emphasize that it is considering all options.
