Tele2 customers face mail problems due to migration

An unknown number of Tele2 customers are experiencing problems due to an email migration. According to Tele2, it concerns people who had forwarded their e-mail. In addition, a third of the provider’s customers cannot access older e-mail.

Users complain on the Tele2 forum, among others, about the e-mail problems that are the result of the migration of e-mail addresses ending in Zonnet.nl and Versatel.nl to a new mail system.

De Telegraaf even claims that Tele2 is ‘flooded with complaints’, but according to Tele2 spokesperson Jan Willem te Gussinklo, the problems only occur in specific circumstances. “If a customer had forwarded their email to a different email address, they won’t be able to log in after the migration,” Te Gussinklo said. “The transfer will remain active,” said Te Gussinklo. Customers who are affected by the problem can report to the helpdesk and they will be manually transferred.

For a third of customers, the migration means that they are temporarily unable to access e-mail from more than a week ago. “We also announced that in advance,” says Te Gussinklo. The rest of the customers can already use older e-mail. The provider promises that all problems will be resolved on Thursday.
