TCL announces BlackBerry Key2 LE smartphone

TCL has announced the Light Edition of the BlackBerry Key2 released in the summer. The smartphone with physical keys and 4.5 “screen will be available for a starting price of 399 euros.

The BlackBerry Key2 LE has lower specifications than the Key2, released here in July, but also a lower price, while retaining the physical keyboard with 35 keys. The resolution of the 4.5″ LCD, with an aspect ratio of 3:2, is 1620×1080 pixels. The processor is the Snapdragon 636 octacore and there is 4GB of RAM. TCL releases variants with 32GB for 399 euros and with 64GB for 429 euros.The storage amount can be expanded with micro-SD cards.

The device has two cameras on the back, one of 13 megapixels and one of 5 megapixels. The front camera is an 8-megapixel variant. The Key2 runs Android 8.1, which is the version that comes from the Canadian BlackBerry. TCL will release the smartphone in gold, black and red. The company is talking about the device going on sale “worldwide” from next month, but specifically mentions Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, the US and the United Arab Emirates. There is therefore a chance that the LE version of the Key2 will arrive in the Benelux later.
