Tamron unveils 17-28 f/2.8 lens for Sony E-mount and two DSLR lenses
Tamron has announced a new bright 17-28mm f/2.8 lens for full-frame sensor Sony system cameras. In addition, the manufacturer comes with two lenses for full-frame DSLRs from Canon and Nikon.
Tamron states that the 17-28 mm f/2.8 Di III RXD with 67 mm has a relatively small maximum diameter for such a wide-angle lens. According to the manufacturer, this is a lightweight lens, although the exact weight is not mentioned. The minimum focusing distance is 0.19m at 17mm and the lens is equipped with a stepper motor so that it is especially suitable for video. Tamron previously released the 28-75mm f/2.8 lens for Sony system cameras.
Tamron also comes with the SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD, a very bright lens for full-frame SLR cameras. This prime will be the brightest lens that Tamron offers for DSLRs and will be placed next to the existing 35mm f/1.8 lens. The manufacturer has not yet revealed many details.
Finally, the lens manufacturer will also market the 35-150 mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD. This is also a lens intended for SLR cameras with a full-frame sensor. The minimum focusing distance is 0.45m over the entire zoom range and the construction uses Low Dispersion elements and aspherical lenses. The lens has built-in stabilization.
Tamron has not yet announced prices for the three different lenses. The same goes for the exact release dates. The products should hit the market sometime in the middle of this year. At the CP+ trade show, which will be held in Japan from February 28 to March 3, Tamron will show the lenses and likely reveal more details.
