Take-Two to buy Dragon City and Monster Legends mobile games developer

Take-Two, parent company of GTA developer Rockstar, among others, has acquired a company that makes games for mobile platforms for the first time. Take-Two deposits 250 million euros for the Spanish Social Point, which made Dragon City and Monster Legends.

Both mobile games have totaled more than 180 million downloads, Take-Two reports announcing the acquisition. The company states several reasons for the acquisition. For example, Social Point is a profitable company that also makes Take-Two less dependent on the income from, for example, console games. In addition, Social Point has its own analytics platform that the game maker can use.

Take-Two is putting 250 million euros on the table for the Spanish company, of which 175 million in cash and 75 million in shares. The mobile game maker continues its work as part of Take-Two. Social Point has existed since 2009.
