Take-Two’s publishing label Private Division has established a new studio in Seattle for the development of Kerbal Space Program 2. The studio is taking over development from Star Theory Games.

The new studio, which Private Division doesn’t seem to have named yet, is made up in part of members of Star Theory, such as the studio’s head, creative director and primary producer. In addition, Private Division is looking for new employees for the studio, such as a community manager.

Take-Two announced Kerbal Space Program 2 last year, then said the game would be released in Spring 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. After that, it became clear that the space game will be released in fiscal year 2021, which starts April 1, 2020 and ends at the end of March 2021. The publisher will stick to that release period, despite the fact that a new studio is now taking over the development of Star Theory.

The first version of Kerbal Space Program was created by the studio Squad. The game was released in 2015 and has sold more than 3.5 million copies. Part 2 is more comprehensive, features a new interface, enables interstellar travel and will get multiplayer support, it promises.
