Take-Two moves LA Noire to 2011

Take-Two Interactive would have pushed LA Noire to 2011. According to an analyst, the company has not yet shown the Rockstar game to retailers and the game is now planned for February 2011.

Evan Wilson, analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, said. The fact that the game has still not been shown is striking for a product that should be in stores at the end of October. In addition, Wilson, who is rated as trustworthy by Yahoo Finance, noted that the game is already planned for February 2011 from his sources, so reported games spot. In a letter to investors, Wilson said he had received confirmation from LA Noire’s postponement, although that confirmation does not appear to come from Take-Two.

In his writing, Wilson strongly criticized the management of Take-Two Interactive. According to the analyst, this is the twentieth time a Take-Two title has been postponed, which Wilson says points to incompetent management. The publisher’s board would have no control over the release dates of its products, estimate when a product will be ready, or care about what it tells the investors in forecasts. Wilson therefore regards Take-Two’s management as a board in which too much confidence can be expressed.

LA Noire has been waiting for its release for five years now. The title was announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive in 2005. Rockstar Games acquired the publishing rights to the game a year later and soon announced that the game would also be released on the Xbox 360. LA Noire is in development at Australian studio Team Bondi.
