Taito to release The Ninja Warrior reboot in Europe
Japan’s Taito will release a reboot of SNES game The Ninja Warrior in Europe. In Japan, that game will be released in July with the name The Ninja Warriors: Once Again for the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. It is not yet known when the European release will follow.
In a press release, Taito reports that the Ninja Warrior reboot will be the Japanese developer’s first game to return to the Western market. The game will be released in Europe and North America, although it is unclear when and under what name.
The Ninja Warrior was released for the SNES in 1994. It is a side-scroller in which players have to fight their way through the levels. The game has been playing in arcades since 1987. The reboot of the game will be based on the SNES version. For the Japanese version of the game, Taito has already put a website online with details and screenshots.
Taito is a Japanese game developer and publisher. Decades ago, the company had success with arcade games such as Space Invaders, Arkanoid, and Puzzle Bobble. The company, which is part of Square Enix, says it wants to return to the game market with existing and new titles.
