Tag Heuer is planning to introduce a smartwatch that not only replaces the straps, but also the timepiece itself. According to rumors, it is a smartwatch with the name Connected Modular, which should be on the market in March.

That is according to Android Central, which has the information from unspecified sources. Tag Heuer is said to be working on a successor to the Connected smartwatch, called Connected Modular. The most striking thing about the reporting is that the manufacturer plans to make the digital timepiece replaceable. For example, a conventional mechanical timepiece could be used, so that users can in fact choose between wearing a smartwatch or a more conventional watch.

It is not yet clear exactly what the Connected Modular will look like and how the replacement of the timepiece will work. There are also no images known of the as yet unannounced smartwatch.

By the way, Tag Heuer has already indicated that it is working on a successor for the Connected. However, the company has not yet disclosed any details about the specifications. An amount of 1400 euros must be deposited for the Connected, visible here on the right. It is likely that the successor will entail comparable costs. According to Android Central, Tag Heuer will release the Connected Modular on March 14.
