System76 has unveiled a new variant of its Gazelle laptop. The device has an i9-13900H CPU, up to 64GB DDR4 memory, an RTX 3050 and a 15.6″ or 17.3″ display. System76 markets the laptop for gamers and developers.

System76, which also develops Pop!_OS, ships the laptop with that OS or Ubuntu, in both cases the LTS variant. Both display sizes have a refresh rate of 144Hz, but support for G-Sync, FreeSync or VESA AdaptiveSync is not mentioned.

System76 offers many options when it comes to storage and working memory. Two NVMe drives fit in the laptop, and options start at a 250GB PCI-e Gen3 drive and end at a 4TB Gen4 drive. The latter has a maximum sequential reading speed of 7300MB/s and 6600MB/s in writing. The second SSD has a maximum of one gen3 slot available. The choices for RAM start at 8GB and go through 16GB, 32GB to 64GB. The speed is 3200MHz at all capacities.

The laptop also has a 54Wh battery, a keyboard with RGB backlight, WiFi-6E, Bluetooth 5.0, gigabit Ethernet, both type-A and type-C ports, a 2-in-1 3.5mm audio output, a micro SD card reader and video out via HDMI and mini display port. The firmware is also accessible, so programmers have access to keyboard, fan and battery adjustments.

System76 charges a starting price of $1299 for the laptop. A 17.3″ display, 32GB of ram and a 1TB SSD, for example, increase that to 1642 dollars. That is converted and with VAT 1441 and 1822 euros respectively. The shipping costs start at 128 euros. This is the cheapest laptop from System76 with a discrete GPU.
