The remake of the game System Shock will be released in March. The game will then be released on the PlayStation 4 and 5, the Xbox Series X, Series S and One, and the PC. The game has been delayed several times, but now the date is final, developer Nightdive writes.

Developer Nightdive writes on the Kickstarter page that a more definite date has been announced for when the System Shock remake will be released. System Shock is a shooter where players wake up on a spaceship and have to shoot and hack their way out. The game is originally from 1994, but the developers started a campaign on Kickstarter in 2016 to make a modern remaster. It was delayed for years, but now seems to be finally coming. The makers say that the game will be released in March 2023, although they do not yet mention a hard date. The release period is now also on the Steam page of the game.

It is not the first time that the developer mentions a cautious release date. Nightdive acknowledges that, but states that the situation is different this time. “The scope and scale of the project have changed dramatically since publisher Prime Matter joined the project.” As a result, the developers would have focused mainly on quality improvements and bug fixes, which Nightdive calls “the last big steps”.

In the blog post, the developer also mentions several improvements that are being made to the game, such as graphical adjustments and a new enemy type in the game. Last year, Nightdive already showed a seven-minute gameplay trailer.
