Synology has announced the DS2015xs and DS3615xs storage systems. Both models are equipped with 10Gbit/s Ethernet connections as standard. The DS2015xs supports up to eight hard drives, while the DS3615xs has twelve drive bays.

According to the NAS manufacturer, the DiskStation DS2015xs can achieve transfer speeds of up to 1930MB/s at up to 59,180 iops thanks to its two 10Gb Ethernet ports. Because the NAS also has two gigabit Ethernet ports, this NAS system is especially suitable for small businesses that want to gradually make the switch to 10Gbit, reports Synology. The processor is the Annapurna Labs Alpine AL514 soc, which is a quad-core ARM Cortex A15 processor.

The eight drive bays in the DS2015xs offer a maximum gross storage of 48TB when using 6TB drives. Expansion units can further increase the available storage capacity. The NAS also contains 4GB of RAM as standard. This can be expanded to 8GB if needed. The DS2015xs is available immediately. The suggested retail price is 1168 euros.

Those who need more storage capacity can turn to the DS3615xs. This nas contains an Intel Core i3-4130, a dual-core processor clocked at 3.4GHz. The NAS comes with 4GB ECC RAM, but expansion up to 32GB is possible. The twelve drive bays offer a maximum gross storage capacity of 72TB, while an SSD caching mechanism can also be found in the storage system.

The DS3615xs includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports as standard, but Synology also includes a 10Gb Ethernet adapter to enable throughput speeds of over 2350MB/s. The maximum number of iops is specified at 236,350. The nas system will have a price tag of 2239 euros.
