Synology introduces DS723+ NAS with two bays and AMD Ryzen R1600

Synology has introduced its smallest expandable nas with the DS723+. The device is intended for home offices and small businesses and has two bays. The nas has a suggested retail price of 506 euros converted with VAT.

The DS723+ is equipped with AMD’s Ryzen R1600-soc, with two cores clocked at 2.6 to 3.1 GHz. The nas comes standard with a bar of 2GB DDR4 ECC memory. The user can upgrade this to two 16GB modules.

With the two bays, a total of two 2.5″ or 3.5″ drives can be installed. The nas can also handle the DX517 expansion, which adds five bays. There are also two M.2 2280 NVME slots. There are two 1Gbit/s Ethernet ports as standard, but synology says that the device with the PCIe slot can be expanded with a 10Gbit/s Ethernet port. In addition, there is an eSATA port and a USB 3.2 port.

The nas measures 166mmx106mmx223mm, weighs 1.51kg and has a fan that produces a maximum of 20.7dB(A). In use, the DS723+ consumes 21.07W, in sleep mode it is 8.62W. The device comes with Synology’s DiskStation Manager operating system.
