Swiftkey gets clipboard and text shortcuts
Swiftkey has received a clipboard and text shortcuts in its latest update. Keyboard users can now store larger chunks of text in the app and access them easily by setting a relevant text shortcut.
Of Entrance for example, from last Monday, users can enter “address1” as a shortcut and the full address will appear in the list of word predictions. The clips feature was already available in the beta version of the app since the middle of this year, but is now available to everyone. The shortcuts are completely new.
Swiftkey is one of the older applications in the Google Play Store. The first version of the keyboard was put online in 2010. One of Swiftkey’s primary functions is a prediction algorithm that can now also serve multiple words to users at once. Swiftkey has been owned by Microsoft since February this year. Although the app cost around 3 euros in the past, it has been free since 2014. The app should now monetize through the sale of themes in its own Store. Nowadays there is also an iOS version of the keyboard.
