Surviving Mars gets Space Race expansion
Paradox announces the first major expansion for Mars colonization simulation game Surviving Mars. The Space Race DLC adds a competitive element; players no longer create an isolated colony on Mars, but must compete against competitors.
In the Space Race expansion, players compete against other colonies controlled by the computer. The objective is to trump the other colonies by being the first to reach certain milestones to become the most powerful Mars colony.
In some areas it is possible to collaborate, for example by trading or responding to emergency calls. Players can also make an emergency call themselves if they run into trouble. Furthermore, it is possible to steal settlers from other colonies.
The expansion costs 13 euros on Steam. It is not yet known what the DLC will cost for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Paradox Interactive has not yet announced an exact release date; Space Race will be released “later this year.” The expansion is also part of the Season Pass.
