Survival game Rust is coming to PS4 and Xbox One next year
Developer Facepunch Studios will bring survival game Rust to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year. An exact release date is still unknown. According to the developer, 100 players will be able to play in a game world at the same time upon release.
Facepunch is bringing the game to both consoles in collaboration with publisher Double Eleven, the developer reported during Microsoft’s X019 event. According to Facepunch, players of the console version will be able to play on a server with up to a hundred at a time upon release. It is unknown if the game also offers cross-platform support.
Rust is a multiplayer survival game, currently only playable on PC. The game came out on Steam in 2013 as a sort of clone of Arma 2 mod DayZ. The game left Early Access in February 2018 and now has eight million players, according to the developer. A big part of Rust consists of building your own base and possibly robbing other players. Players can also join a clan to increase their chances of survival. The game also has crafting elements that are somewhat similar to those from Minecraft.
