SURFSara services are offline due to outage
The high-performance computing service provider SURFSara has been experiencing major disruptions since Thursday afternoon. Many services are therefore not accessible to companies and research institutes. The Cartesius supercomputer can be accessed.
The cause of the problems lies with the firewall, reports SURFSara. The service provider searches for the cause with the hardware supplier of the network switches. The problems started at 2:30 PM on Thursday afternoon and were not resolved by Friday morning.
Many of the organization’s systems are not accessible due to the malfunction, but SURFSara emphasizes that the ‘national supercomputer’ Cartesius can be used and the SURFDrive service for data sharing can also be accessed.
With its infrastructure, SURFSara offers services for, among other things, high-performance computing, which researchers from companies, educational institutions and other institutes can use.
