Super Smash Bros. coming to Wii U in winter
Super Smash Bros. will be released on Wii U this winter. The 3DS edition will be available this summer, Nintendo has announced. Two new characters will also be available in the fighting game.
The planned releases for the handheld and console, with no exact dates announced, were made by Nintendo in a Nintendo Direct video. Both titles will be available in stores and on Nintendo eShop. The console manufacturer also announced that two playable Pokémon characters will appear in the game: Charizard and Greninja.
The two Super Smash Bros. versions will feature online modes for glory and fun. In the for glory mode, no items will appear in the levels, while the ‘for fun’ mode produces random items and levels. The game offers a so-called global smash power score that can be compared with other gamers online.
The 3DS version also gets a special ‘smash run’ mode. Up to four gamers walk through a level in co-op for five minutes, collecting as many power-ups as possible and dodging enemies. After the five minutes, the players have to fight each other. Furthermore, both versions will have a number of unique levels.
